MARCH 20 : ALL WALKS ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
There are two walking groups in Ombersley.
The Ombersley Walk Group
The Ombersley Walk Group was established in 2016 to provide an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a 5-mile circular ramble around our beautiful parish. With some 85 miles of public rights of way including 325 footpaths and 28 bridleways we have plenty to explore! We mostly meet at either Ombersley Memorial Hall or Sytchampton Village Hall on a Saturday morning, once a quarter, where there is plenty of parking space. Children are welcome and dogs too provided that they are kept on a short leash and under control. After the walk we enjoy a chat and refreshments in the hall.
Linked below is the map produced by the Countryside Access Team at Worcestershire County Council - this is the map shown on the village notice board near to Checketts. Although Peter Reynolds designed the walk, it was supported by WCC as part of their village circular walks series.
The Ombersley Walking for Health Group has been established in conjunction with the Ombersley Medical Practice to encourage regular walking. We meet every Wednesday morning at the Lych Gate of St Andrew's Church in Ombersley. We normally walk for 30 to 90 minutes depending on the weather and make-up of the group. Each walk is accompanied by two or three volunteer walk leaders who know the routes and are happy to chat. We walk at a leisurely pace with no rush to get back. Afterwards there is an opportunity for refreshments in the Church.
