Dragonfly Pilates with Amy offers Pilates classes in small groups (Monday 13:30 & Thursday 18:00 at Sytchampton Village Hall and Monday 17:45 & 19:00 & Wednesday 09:30 at Holt Heath Village Hall). Pilates focuses on a whole body workout, developing core control and lateral breathing technique. You will develop strength and control over time. As Joseph Pilates (founder of the Pilates movement) quoted “The acquirement and enjoyment of physical well-being, mental calm and spiritual peace are priceless to their possessors...” Pilates benefits not only your physical health, but also your mental health.
Classes are designed to be suitable for men and women of all ages and all levels of fitness with modifications or progressions offered as required. Amy will focus on the six key principles of Pilates; Concentration, Control, Centring, Flow, Precision and Breathing. Within a short time, many clients have experienced many benefits, including improved posture and reduced pain.
Dragonfly Pilates with Amy also works with several Private clients who require 1:1 attention, maybe for rehabilitation following injury or to maintain/increase mobility or to work on balance and coordination.
If you are a business looking to offer Pilates to your workforce, please get in touch and Amy will discuss your requirements and options with you.
About Dragonfly Pilates with Amy: Amy is a mum of two small children with a busy family life. In 2017 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis which led to a major life overhaul. Dragonfly Pilates was created (the Dragonfly symbolising change/self-realisation) and Amy has stepped back to her routes of Sport and Exercise. She studied Sport and Exercise Science at University, coached gymnastics for ten years and has led an active lifestyle - even running the London Marathon in 2009. Pilates has helped her personally to achieve control over many of her MS symptoms, and she hopes that her teaching can help others.
